Editors Notes: Three different rivers and lots and lots of whitewater provide all the fun in Maine. The lunch looked fabulous and the entire experience provides bonding opportunities for family and friends.
From the Producer: Maine has three major whitewater rafting rivers: the Kennebec is a remote river with a rock wall gorge. It’s great for kids, providing rollercoaster waves for the first half and smooth riding for the second half. The Dead River, offers much of the same beauty as the Kennebec. The Penobscot River lies on the outskirts of Baxter State Park, with an unforgettable view of Mount Katahdin, Maine’s largest mountain. A common misconception is in Maine, you have to “rough it.” There’ something here for everybody, from tents to furnished cabins to bed and breakfasts’. There are also great amenities such as pools and hot tubs, restaurants and area nigh life. Besides rafting, there is hiking, hundreds of ponds and lakes and many other adventures waiting to be had in Maine.
